Solutions!

Vendors now provide RADIUS-based authentication and per-connection encryption!

. Almost, but not entirely, unlike standards
. (products expect specific implementations, or extensions).

. To each their own
. (different solutions from different vendors means incompatible drivers).

. Extra pieces
. (some solutions require extra drivers for VPN connections).

The upshot is that cross-vendor interoperability goes out the window, support for multiple platforms is diminished, and users have more work to do.

We don't like to hear all that whining.
