Don't weep for WEP

WEP stands for Wire Equivalent Privacy.
(Protects the local wLAN from outsiders only.)

WEP relies on a shared secret.
(Useless outside of small, static groups.)

If you know the WEP password, you can sniff the wLAN.
(One key decryptes all packets.)

We were not surprised when WEP was cracked. The attack was fairly straight-forward and the methodology well-known.
